The split-window was then sent to Ron Randall at Metal- Morphous, Inc. in Wallingford, Connecticut, for a complete repaint. Later, with the paint dry, Fred and Anita were once again ready to show off the finished creation to their peers. Since then, the Corvette community has responded by awarding the couple titles such as a Celebrity Choice selection (given by "Corvette Mike" Vietro) at the Corvettes at Carlisle Show in '06. According to Fred, the car "proves it's possible to create a very highperformance street machine around an early Corvette without making excessive modifications.

"While it would be a lot of work to bring this Corvette back to original condition," he adds, "the approach we've taken to updating the car does not prevent us from doing so sometime in the future." Sounds to us like the Kemmerers have managed to achieve the elusive customizing goal of letting their imaginations soar while keeping their feet firmly planted on the ground.
